La memoria tende a mitigare i cattivi ricordi e ad esaltare quelli belli, quindi vi racconteremo che percorrere la F35 è stata un'esperienza fantastica
Lasciamo Vik sotto il diluvio e con il vento sul fianco. Il freddo ci penetra nelle ossa e le mani ed i piedi perdono presto la sensibilità.
La "bolla" ciclabile di Ferrara ci accompagna fino alle porte del delta del Po e da lì poi la strada è corta per Venezia.
Tutte le città, paesi, gruppi di case che si affacciano al Po hanno una via Po, che si butta perpendicolare al corso del fiume.
Primo giorno di viaggio: 50Km in bici, 7Km a piedi, 4 pezze per rattoppare una camera d'aria, 1 treno.
Questa volta viaggeremo in Italia, per scoprire il bello dietro l'angolo anzi, sotto casa: attraverseremo la pianura padana in bicicletta, lungo il percorso del Po.
Anche se il numero di visite non si conta ormai più, Parigi ha sempre un qualche angolo (nascosto) da scoprire..
Dopo un anno a spasso per le Americhe tornare direttamente in Italia sarebbe uno shock troppo grande..

I learnt that 'travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries', i learnt more also about my country because if you stay still none will ask you to explain the 'why' of your culture.

when i don't know if i'm really learnt how to ride my bike, but i feel good and powerful and i would do it again and again and again and again and again.. Durante questo viaggio ho incontrato una persona che stava pedalando dall'Alaska fino alla Patagonia. E' arrivato in questi giorni, dopo due anni e 41662 km. Io sto pedalando da un mese e di km ne ho fatti 2000 e sono felice e viva. E' per questo che quando lui ha raggiunto la sua meta mi sono emozionata ancora di più. Ho una vaga idea di quello che ha passato, potuto vedere, sentire, annusare. Pedalare significa essere immersi nel viaggio, viverlo e soffrirlo ma esserne padroni, avere la consapevolezza di quello che c'é attorno. Una lacrima di felicità per lui e una di tristezza per tutti quelli che rendono usare la bici sempre più difficile.

Una grande differenza rispetto all'Europa é che negli Stati Uniti le città sono divise tra zone commerciali e zone residenziali. Svelato il mistero per cui nel nostro immaginario le case americane sono quelle singole col giardino tutto intorno e il porticato. Grandi, piccole, vecchie non importa, a seconda della città hanno uno stile diverso o sono più curate ma sono esattamente come le immaginiamo. O quasi. Ne ho viste di super colorate, a New Orleans avevano le facciate più creative, sulla costa ovest per un tratto di isola ognuna aveva un insegna con un nome, arrivando a Tampa erano superlussuose. E poi c'é anche chi é creativo a modo suo. Ecco dov'erano gli alieni che sto cercando dal sud America.

334 when roses are red, berries are blue...really blue!! L'ultima volta che in natura ho trovato un cibo fluorescente ero in Perù ed erano banane. Dichiaratamente arancioni. Questo begel invece di dichiarato non ha nulla, o meglio, forse in piccolo sì. Colpa mia, adoro i begel, adoro i frutti che finiscono con 'berry' e dunque.. Neanche le mozzarelle avariate erano così blu.
Dal 28 Gennaio al 3 Febbraio: Ci rilassiamo a Dauphin Island per poi proseguire verso Pensacola, dove siamo bloccati causa maltempo ed ospitati su una barca.
when time was on my side when I was running down the street, it was so fine, fine, fine... Dopo un giorno di pausa, tappa lunga. Passato il test, superati i cento km. Ci dicono che una delle sfide tra i ciclisti di queste parti sia il 'century' ovvero 100 miglia che sono circa 160km. In realtà oggi avrei potuto farne ancora una ventina, come i ciclisti bravi, ma siamo arrivati alla meta. Credo che comunque la Florida ci offrirà la possibilità di accettare la sfida perché guardando la cartina ci sono lunghe strade dipinte..di verde. E nulla più. Ad ogni modo per oggi mi basta questo. Sarei l'orgoglio della Zanicchi: 100! 100! 100!

when the food in the south should be lighter because it's hotter...but is not! Like in Italy i would say... Cercare pomodori nei supermercati americani mi mette addosso tanta tristezza. Non vedo, quando sarò di nuovo a casa, di andare al mercato dai contadini, comprare una verdura per tipo, anche di quelle che non mi piacciono, e frutta, tanta. Quando torno faccio un verdura party! Chiaramente ci sono dei cibi 'tipicamente americani' che mi piacciono e che sto provando perché il cibo descrive le culture, ancora ho nel cuore le torte dell'Oregon...Ma qua al sud abbiamo i PoBoy, che sta per 'poor boys'. Panini di pane vero (eredità francese) pieni di unto o fritto, possibilmente pesce, e enormi. Non importa che si sia al sud e quindi faccia più caldo..vai da una mamma del sud e dille che fa troppo caldo per la parmigiana!

when before i die i would like to... Il progetto Before I Die nasce da una idea di Candy Chang e nasce qua, a New Orleans. E' una enorme lavagna alla quale chiunque con un gessetto può contribuire. Sono rimasta qualche secondo a guardarla, senza sapere che scrivere, notando che molti dei messaggi riguardano il voler sposare o uccidere qualcuno. Fortunatamente nessuna di queste intenzioni mi appartiene. Tuttavia gli autori avevano almeno le idee più chiare di me, almeno avevano una risposta. Quello che mi piacerebbe che accadesse prima di morire é sapere un po' di più quello che mi rende felice perché il coraggio e l'energia di fare le cose ce l'ho. Ho sempre invidiato le persone con un talento o molto decise perché avrebbero potuto non perdere tempo con il capire la loro direzione. Come capire dunque che fare? Forse, before i die, devo provare tutto, almeno una volta.
